This is Alice. Alice is a Golden Orb Weaver - a fabulous big arachnid characterised by its vivid golden webs. Unlike a lot of spiders, the Golden Orb Weaver keeps its web maintained continously, relacing it with sticky capture threads each day. Alice made quite short work of this bee. This female weaver is about 10cm in length, including her legs. She is huge - and very well fed.
